FolkCraft Series is a collection of hands-on herbal workshops designed for all skill levels. Rooted in folk tradition and guided by the joy of learning through making, each session offers a simple, approachable way to connect with the plants and create something useful, beautiful, and practical to take home. From teas, salves, and perfumes to seasonal remedies and other botanical creations, FolkCraft brings herbal wisdom to life through direct experience. No prior knowledge is needed—just curiosity, a willingness to work with your hands, and a love for the old skills that still have so much to offer today.
Make Your Own Drugs: Herbal Tincture Mini-Lab.
Step into the apothecary and learn one of herbalism’s most practical and powerful preparations: the tincture. In this hands-on mini-lab, students will make their own tincture using fresh or dried plant material and build a custom medicinal blend to take home while learning how herbalists formulate remedies with the whole person in mind. Along the way, we’ll sample single-herb extracts and cover the essentials of tincture-making at home, including alcohol content, glycerites, basic filtration methods, how to prevent mold and spoilage, and how to approach dosing with confidence. Whether you’re brand new to herbal medicine or looking to deepen your kitchen apothecary skills, this class offers a lively, approachable introduction to crafting plant remedies by hand.
